Where Should We Put Things?

The proposed layout - which is in its early stages of development – has been structured in line with design aspirations and a response to the site context.

The strategic layout seeks to achieve a number of key connections, namely:-

  • Access to the new Parish facilities to be directly off Highgate Hill.
  • The location of the new Religious House adjacent to the Church and Highgate Hill to maintain a close connection between the Church and the religious administration.
  • To maintain Parish facilities in the form of gardens and landscaped areas for Parish events, to be closely associated with the new Religious House.
  • Seek to capitalise on views out from the site and the fact that the site is well served by public transport including Archway underground station.
  • To locate the residential development adjacent to Dartmouth Park Hill.
  • Seek to maintain car parking in small areas as a balanced development exploiting site levels and topography.

Ensure that the scheme responds not only to the existing land form and wide views of the Church but also seeks to respect the existing vegetation on the site which runs primarily along the boundary walls with Highgate Hill and Dartmouth Park Hill.
