Existing Facilities

The proposal seeks to address a number of concerns that surround the existing facilities, both within the existing administrative areas of the Church and the existing residential provision for the religious community.

The existing administrative centre within the Church is poorly planned, due in part to its difficult means of access and disproportionately high level of non-usable circulation space.

The existing Parish Centre is in the grounds some distance from the church and it is recognised that it fails to fully meet the current ever-expanding parish needs.

The accommodation in the existing Retreat where some of the Priests currently reside needs significant investment to bring it up to current standards.

The proposal seeks to address the shortfalls that have occurred in the expansion and development of both the Church and the parish facilities, all of which have to an extent been accidental and the opportunity has arisen to create a more coherent, usable and adaptable series of facilities.
